Contraptioneering
A contraption is a complex machine used to do something simple.
Building contraptions is a great hobby.
Most contraptioneers follow these simple rules:
No electrical parts.
No interference after it has started.
Try to use interesting parts (e.g. use a toy car instead of a marble.)
A basic contraption idea:
A toy car rolls down a slope into a cradle suspended in the air, the cradle pulls the string down and on the other side an identical cradle releases a marble that releases a switch that lowers a kettle onto a warm stove, the stove melts some ice that is in the kettle. the water leaks into a cradle that sinks and is connected to a pulley system that releases a switch that release a hammer that turns on a light.
